Rinku Singh, the sensational Indian batsman, showcased his explosive skills in the second T20I against South Africa in Gqeberha on Tuesday. The 24-year-old hit a gigantic six off Lungi Ngidi that broke the glass window of the media box in the stadium. The incident happened in the 19th over of India’s innings, when Rinku lifted a length ball over long-off and hit the window pane with a loud crash. The ball bounced back into the field and the umpires signalled a six. The crowd went wild and Rinku celebrated his boundary with a scream.

Rinku, who made his T20I debut in the series, played a vital knock of 68 off 39 balls to help India score 180 for 7. He hit nine fours and two sixes in his innings, but the one that broke the glass was the most spectacular one. Rinku later revealed that he had practised hitting big shots in the nets with his coach. He also said that he was confident of clearing the boundary as he had a good connection with the ball3

Rinku, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and the IPL. He plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and has scored 217 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 134.56. He is known for his aggressive batting style and his ability to finish games. He has also represented India A and India Emerging Teams in the past. He is one of the promising talents in Indian cricket and has impressed the selectors with his performances. He had earlier received his maiden ODI call-up for the series against South Africa, where he scored 72 off 48 balls in the first match and helped India win by 131 runs.
