Paris, the city of romance, is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to celebrate Lord Ram’s glory on January 21. The Indian community in Paris has planned two amazing events under the banner of ‘Ayodhya Mandir Mahotsav’.

The Grand Ram Rath Yatra

The ‘Ram Rath Yatra’ is a magnificent procession that will begin at 12 pm on January 21 from Place De La Chapelle and end at Place De Trocadero, where the majestic Eiffel Tower stands, at 3 pm. The yatra will kick off with prayers and ‘Vishwa Kalyan Yagna’ at a Ganesha temple at 10.30 am at La Chapelle. The chariot carrying Lord Ram will travel through the main landmarks of Paris, reminiscent of the ‘Rath Yatra’ of the 90s when BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani embarked on his journey from Somnath on September 25, 1990 — Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary — to reach Ayodhya on October 30, after covering 10,000 km.

The Route

After the prayers and ‘Vishwa Kalyan Yagna’, the yatra will proceed to Place De La Republique, Musée de Louver (Louver Museum), the iconic Arc De Triomphe and finally arrive at Place De Trocadero.

The Celebration

Avinash Mishra, the main organizer and the President of Overseas Friends of BJP in France, told News18 exclusively, “We are expecting 150 to 200 people to join the yatra. But we are expecting more than a thousand people to gather near the Eiffel Tower for the Puja and cultural programme. Already more than 400 have registered with us. That number will grow.” He also said one of the challenges of the organizers is the severe cold weather in Paris. “We want to finish everything by 4 in the afternoon,” he said.

Conclusion

This event is a proof of the global influence of Indian culture and the solidarity of the Indian diaspora. It is a unique fusion of faith, culture, and celebration, bringing the essence of Ayodhya to the heart of Paris.
