New Delhi, December 31, 2023 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to kick off the New Year with an exciting tour of South India. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has announced that PM Modi will be visiting Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Kerala on January 2-3, 2024.

Day 1: Tamil Nadu Welcomes PM Modi

On January 2, the Prime Minister will reach Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, where he will be the Chief Guest at the 38th Convocation Ceremony of Bharathidasan University. This visit underscores the central government’s commitment to higher education and its role in nation-building.

Following the convocation, PM Modi will inaugurate various development projects in the state. These projects are expected to boost the state’s infrastructure and contribute to its economic growth.

Lakshadweep: A Commitment to All Regions

Later in the day, PM Modi will address a public meeting in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. This visit is seen as an affirmation of the central government’s commitment to the development of all regions of the country, including its island territories.

Day 2: Kerala’s Turn

On January 3, the Prime Minister will participate in programmes at two locations in Kerala. The details of these programmes are yet to be announced.

Strengthening BJP’s Presence

This visit comes ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, and is seen as a significant move to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the southern states.
